I live in Waterford, and I liked having Arts, Beats & Eats in Pontiac - easy drive, knew where everything was - done, done and done. So when they announced it was moving to Royal Oak, I had the same complaints as everyone else "not enough parking", "too crowded", "why did the Lions draft another wide reciever?".
Guess what? I was wrong - the layout was great the first year, and it's improved every year (thanks in a large part to folks like Jon Witz, and Royal Oak Mayor Jim Ellison).
Some of the best art you'll find (and guys, there's man cave stuff that you WON'T find elsewhere - pics of Olympia, amazing art)
And the food -- just as good. Take this three day weekend, enjoy your friends and family and step out a bit -- it's a tradition in the Motor City, and it's better every year.
Here's my conversation with Royal Oak Mayor Jim Ellison - listen closely from some really good parking tips (and he's a great guy)
