BEATLES, DOORS GIVE MARS PROBE A ROCKIN' WAKE-UP CALL

8/20/2012

NASA's Mars Curiosity robot is waking up to the sound of classic rock each day. The Beatles' "Good Mood Morning" and the Doors' "Break On Through" are among the songs beamed to the remote-controlled device each day before exploration gets under way. Also on the daily music menu are songs by Frank Sinatra, the heavy metal group Anthrax, themes from "Mission Impossible" and "Star Wars," and Richard Wagner's "The Ride of the Valkyries."
