ALL-STAR LINEUP TO SMOKE ON "MACHINE HEAD" TRIBUTE
Carlos Santana, Chickenfoot and even a former band member (Glenn Hughes) will be part of a tribute to Deep Purple's most famous album. "Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head," due out this fall, will feature covers of the iconic 1972 album's songs and will be dedicated to the memory of keyobardist Jon Lord, who passed away in July at the age of 71. Also taking part in the tribute are Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott, guitar hero Steve Vai, and former Guns 'N Roses members Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Glenn Hughes was bassist and singer in Deep Purple's Mk.III lineup, two years after "Machine Head" was released.
