BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN DRIVES ALL NIGHT FOR EUROPEAN ATTENDANCE RECORD

7/30/2012

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Bands are used to playing to big crowds, but even this one was special. The group set an attendance record for the biggest concert stand in northern Europe history, drawing more than 130,000 fans to shows Friday and Saturday (July 27 and 28) at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden. The show included a rare performance of "Drive All Night" from "The River" album, which was immediately issued as a fully sanctioned and produced video online. Springsteen and company wrap up their European swing on Tuesday (July 31) in Finland, then kick off a North American tour on August 14-15 at Fenway Park. The group has dates booked into December, though none in Michigan, and guitarist Steven Van Zandt might have to miss some of the shows because of his commitments to the Norwegian TV series "Lilyhammer."
