Bob Dylan and Dire Straits founder Mark Knopfler will play a dozen dates together in August -- though none in the Detroit metro area. The duo kicks off its run on August 10 in Lloydminster, Alabama, and the closest it comes to these parts is an August 28 date in Youngstown, Ohio. Knopfler, of course, co-produced two of Dylan's "born again" albums, "Slow Train Coming" in 1979 and "Infidels" in 1983. Both have new albums coming out in September: Knopfler's will be titled "Privateering," while Dylan recorded his at Jackson Browne's Groove Masters Studios in Santa Monica, California, with one song being a 14-minute epic about the Titanic.
