Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the biggest Southern Rock bands of all time, and now, the guys who brought us “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Freebird” are heading to a new land down under.
The band has just announced that they will be rocking their first ever Australian concert dates, which are set for 2014.
According to the Live Nation Australia website, the pair of shows will take place on February 11 in Melbourne and on February 13 in Sydney. Along with Skynyrd’s Aussie stint, the group will also play three New Zealand concerts in Taupo, Matakana and Queenstown on February 8, 9 and 15, respectively.
In the meantime, Lynyrd Skynyrd has several US tour dates scheduled from now through the middle of November, the next of which is slated for October 18 in Alpharetta, GA.
The band is touring in support of their latest studio album, Last of a Dyin’ Breed, which was released last August.
