This year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame nominees have been announced, and among them are some of Rock and Roll’s most notable.
Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Ray Davies of the Kinks, and John Mellencamp are all up for potential induction.
Other nominees in the performers category include Donovan, Madonna, Sade, Cyndi Lauper, Yusuf Islam (“Cat Stevens”), Vince Gill, Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards and Harry Wayne “K.C.” Casey, and non-performers include Bill Anderson, Bobby Braddock, Linda Perry, Tony Macaulay, Don Robertson, Jim Weatherly and Mark James, among others.
Voting for the nominees ends in December, and the ceremony for those chosen is set to take place on June 12, 2014 at the New York Marriott Marquis.
Rockers inducted in year’s past include Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler & Joe Perry, Bob Seger, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John & Bernie Taupin, Brian Wilson and more.
