Follow-Up to Duane Allman's "Skydog" Retrospective Due Out This Fall
By: AnnMarie Scaramuzzino

In response to the huge success of the boxset Skydog: The Duane Allman Retrospective, it was announced today (October 9) via official press release that Rounder Records will be issuing an encore edition of the seven-CD package.

The set will feature all of the music and the original booklet included in the initial release, but will come in a slimmed-down package and offered up at a lower price.

Originally released in March of this year, Skydog: The Duane Allman Retrospective, was produced by Bill Levenson and Allman’s daughter, Galadrielle. The collection features music from the late rocker's long and impressive career, including songs from his early days with bands like The Escorts, The Allman Joys and Hour Glass, his studio work with Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and Boz Scaggs, rare singles and live performances, and of course, the music of the Allman Brothers.

Additionally, the encore edition will offer the original book with essays by Scott Schinder and Galadrielle Allman, as well as several rare Duane Allman photos.

Skydog: The Duane Allman Retrospective Encore Edition will be released on November 5.
