Gregg Allman to Embark on 2013 Solo Tour Dates

Gregg Allman
will hit the road one last time before 2013 comes to a close.

The Allman Brothers Band rocker announced yesterday (September 26) that he will embark on a series of solo tour dates beginning next month on October 11 in Montgomery, AL, and running all the way through New Year’s Eve when Allman will perform at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, FL.

But it won’t just be his tour keeping him busy! Gregg Allman also recently revealed to American Blues Scene that he hopes to begin work on a new solo record in November with producer T-Bone Burnett, though his aim is to write every song on his own.

“I always wanted to do a record merely called ‘All Compositions By…’ and just have my name,” Allman told American Blues Scene. “I’d like to do a record where I wrote every one. It’s probably a goal of every songwriter in the world. Do one record that you totally create. I mean, you have hundreds if you needed it, different players with you — but you write it all!”

The singer recently wrapped up a series of concert dates with the Allman Brothers, including their annual Peach Festival back in August which also featured Bob Weir & RatDog, The Black Crowes, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and Gov’t Mule.
