Fans that never stopped thinking about a Fleetwood Mac/Christine McVie reunion got their wish on Tuesday night!
As Stevie Nicks had already revealed during an interview with the BBC earlier this month, McVie joined her former bandmates on stage at London’s O2 Arena to rock the Rumours tune “Don’t Stop;” one of the many songs McVie penned for the band through the years.
The emotion from both Fleetwood Mac and the crowd can be felt as Christine McVie walks out onto stage to perform with Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood for the first time in 15 years.
McVie (70) left Fleetwood Mac in 1998 following the release of the band’s live album The Dance and their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, opting for a quieter lifestyle in her native England. Since that time, McVie has rarely performed live, though she did join Mick Fleetwood’s blues band on stage for a one-off show in Hawaii earlier this month, leaving many wondering whether a Fleetwood Mac reunion could be in the works.
While there’s been no talk about the keyboardist rejoining the band permanently, Stevie Nicks did promise during her BBC interview that Christine McVie would play two shows with the group. Her second performance will most likely take place on Friday (September 27) at London’s O2 Arena.
