More than 40 years after its release, Yes’s iconic 1972 album Close to Edge is coming back with a new and improved sound.
According to YesWorld.com, a remixed and remastered version of the LP will be issued next month in two formats: CD/DVD-A and CD/Blu-ray, which will feature extra material, special packaging, a booklet with rare photos and more.
Getting the go-ahead from the band, producer/musician Steve Wilson remixed the entire album in high-res stereo and 5.1 surround sound, and produced brand new mix of the single “America,” while Roger Dean returned as art director to create an updated version of the album’s cover.
The expanded version Close to the Edge is due out on October 21 via Panegyric Recordings, and according to the Yes website, that the album will be just the first in a new series of reissues from the band.
