Good news for David Bowie fans!
The UK rocker is set to re-release a remixed version of his single, “Sound and Vision” next month, which originally came off of his 1977 LP Low. According to the Warner Music Canada website, the reissue was commissioned as a part of the ad campaign for the Sony Xperia Z smartphone, with the full song due out on October 4.
“Sound and Vision” was remixed by Sonjay Prabhakar, and has been stripped down from its original version, though Ray Young’s piano parts and Mark Hopkin’s iconic backing vocals remain intact.
Meanwhile, David Bowie is rumored to appear on Reflektor, the forthcoming album from Canadian-rock band Arcade Fire. Entertainment Weekly posted clip of the title track (which has since been removed), though it has not been confirmed whether or not it is indeed Bowie on the recording.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the song was recorded in New York and co-produced by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy. Reflektor is due out on October 29.
Meanwhile, fans can hear the latest from Bowie on his new album The Next Day, which was released in March of this year via Columbia Records.
