The members of Ratt and Dokken had a bit of a scare over the weekend when their private plane had to make an emergency landing in northwestern Illinois.
According to the Associated Press (via Billboard), the two bands were on their way to a gig in Wauconda, IL on Saturday (August 17), when smoke was detected in their charter plane’s cabin. The pilots were then able to land the plane, which was at about 7,000 feet at the time of the incident, with no injuries to themselves or their 13 passengers.
Ratt then took to their official Facebook page to post a photo of the plane along with the message: “Ratt and Dokken just made an emergency landing after a fire in the cockpit. We are ok!”
The Associated Press spoke to former promoter Chuck Brennan who confirmed that he chartered the plane for Ratt and Dokken for a handful of tour dates with Sebastian Bach and Lita Ford. Following the emergency landing, the bands reportedly opted to drive the rest of the way.
