Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently revealed that Beatles legend Paul McCartney reached out to a lifelong fan that was battling cancer, prior to her death.
Earlier this summer, McCartney reportedly called Susan Kupferman while she was in the hospital during her final stages of cancer, according to Mayor Bloomberg who explained the story to an NYC radio talk show (via NY Daily News) on Friday, calling Sir Paul “a great guy.”
Kupferman, a former NYC City Hall executive, left her post to head up the MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority), where she apparently became friends with McCartney’s wife, Nancy Shevell, a former MTA board member. She passed away on June 26 at the age of 54.
McCartney is currently on his “Out There” world tour with the next show August 9 in San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival. Follow up with daily McCartney news at his official website and share your thoughts on the singer’s kind act in the comments section below!
