Doors guitarist Robby Krieger has taken to his website to announce an upcoming tour with his rock outfit, Robby Krieger’s Jam Kitchen.
The upcoming tour, which kicks off August 9 in Sturgis, S.D. and comes to a close on September 1in Orlando, Fla., will feature the musical stylings of bassist Arthur Barrow and keyboardist Tommy Mars—both former members of Frank Zappa’s band—saxophonist Larry Klimas and drummer Tom Brechtlein.
The complete tour dates are as follows:
- August 9th - Sturgis, SD
- August 11th - Chicago, IL
- August 14th - Ferndale, MI
- August 20th - New York, NY
- August 23rd - West Warwick, RI
- August 24th - Boston, MA
- August 25th - Oak Bluffs, MA
- August 27th - Sellersville, PA
- September 1st - Orlando, FL
It has been just a year since Krieger embarked on his last U.S. tour, which he undertook in support of Singularity, his first all-instrumental album.
During the height of the Doors musical reign in the ‘70s, it was Krieger who penned such timeless classics as “Light My Fire” “Touch Me” “Love Me Two Times” and “Love Her Madly.”
While Krieger’s Jam Kitchen has yet to announce whether they will be touring in support of an upcoming live or studio album, we’d love to see Robby try his hand at penning some modern rock lyrics.
