The life and career of Jimi Hendrix are documented through videos of his iconic performances and of course, through the audio recordings on his albums, but at this year’s Toronto Film Festival, fans will get a different perspective of the late rocker.
The Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side will star Outkast singer Andre “3000” Benjamin as the guitar legend himself, and will chronicle the time that Are You Experienced? was being recorded. Unfortunately, Hendrix lovers will not be able to enjoy his music through the John Ridley-directed film, as they were unable to secure the rights to any of his songs, according to The Huffington Post.
All Is By My Side, which is set to debut in September, will also feature Hayley Atwell, Imogen Poots, Ruth Negga and Adrian Lester.
If fans are craving new Hendrix music, they can pick up a copy of People, Hell and Angels; a collection of 13 never-before-heard songs from the guitarist, which was released on March 5 of this year.
