It has been a year of literal and figurative turbulence for the now 54-year-old Richie Sambora, the accomplished solo artist and longtime lead guitarist of Bon Jovi.
Less than two weeks ago, the legendary rocker walked away unscathed when his private plane was forced to make emergency landing due to a technical malfunction, reported The Examiner.
In April, the Bon Jovi axeman walked away from his band’s ongoing Because We Can world tour due to “personal issues” that many sources, including TMZ, have attributed to an ongoing spat between him and frontman Jon Bon Jovi.
After a 30-year kinship, 100 million album sales, 12 sold-out international tours, and Sambora calling Jon Bon Jovi the “Dean to [his] Frank” in a 2012 interview with MSN, it is hard to imagine this dispute going on much longer.
In fact, recent interviews with the “Ballad of Youth” singer suggested that reconciliation is just around the corner. In the UK’s The Sun, Sambora called the whole debacle “a family drama” that will surely “be resolved,” and insisted that “September’s looking good” for a reunion.
He mirrored this sentiment in a recent talk with TMZ, saying that it would “all work out in the end.”
Since his break with Bon Jovi, Sambora has been focusing on his clothing line, Nikki Rich, and spending quality-time with his daughter Ava, whom he will join on a month-long European vacation this July, as reported by Radar Online.
Today, we would like to wish the iconic guitarist the happiest of birthdays, and a speedy make-up with his long-time right-hand man, Jon Bon Jovi.
