The life and death of Doors’ frontman Jim Morrison is one of the best-known stories in Rock and Roll history, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t always itching for further insight into the late singer.
Now, music-buffs who want to know more about early years of The Lizard King can take matters into their own hands, by donating to a Kickstarter campaign that has been launched to fund a new Jim Morrison documentary.
The film, which is entitled Before the End: Jim Morrison Comes of Age, will chronicle the time in Morrison’s life before he became famous by interviewing the friends and family who lived it with him, according to the Kickstarter page.
As one of the filmmakers puts it in a video about the documentary, “[This film] is about Jim Morrison the human being, as opposed to Jim Morrison the rock star.”
The project has a goal of $50,000, which must be raised by Friday, August 2, and of course has perks for backers who donate at a certain level.
So if you’re interested in finding out more about the formative years of a man who has since become a legend, head to Kickstarter.com to make your donation.
