Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora found himself in an emergency situation earlier this week when the private plane he was flying on was forced to make an unscheduled landing.
According to Antimusic (via Radar Online), the rocker’s plane made an unscheduled stop on Wednesday at the Burbank airport in California due to an issue with the aircraft’s hydraulic pressure.
Once they were on the ground, the plane’s pilots reportedly spoke with Sambora and explained the reason for the emergency landing.
The Bon Jovi guitarist has been in the headlines recently for his high-profile departure from the group’s current tour. In a recent interview with the London Evening Standard, Jon Bon Jovi expressed his thoughts about his friend and bandmate.
The band’s frontman hinted at the reason for Sambora’s absence from their tour, saying he’d been “through it before,” presumably alluding to his past issues with alcohol abuse.
Sambora fought back, telling the U.K.’s Daily Mail that everything was fine and he simply felt bad for his fans in his absence from Bon Jovi.
“My opinion is Jon wants to see if he can pull off stadiums by himself. He is making it very difficult for me to come back,” he explained to the Daily Mail. “Enough with the trash talking!”
Bon Jovi’s European tour wraps up on July 5, after which the group will head back to the U.S. for a few last summer shows before resuming in September.
We're glad to know that Richie is alright, and are still holding out that he and his Bon Jovi bandmates will reunite soon!
