Good news for fans who want to experience Jimi Hendrix in his most rare and psychedelic form, but don’t want to break out their record players!
Come July 9th, Hendrix’s posthumous album The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live in Cologne, will be made available on CD, as opposed to vinyl, for the first time, via Dagger Records.
Spurred “by overwhelming popular demand,” according to the official Jimi Hendrix Experience Facebook page, the album captures the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s live performance at the Sporthalle in Cologne, Germany, on January 13, 1969
Live in Cologne begins with a scalding version of the Electric Ladyland hit, “Come On (Let the Good Times Roll),” then moves into spirited renditions of “Foxey Lady,” “Red House,” “Hey Joe,” and “Purple Haze,” with electrified takes on “The Star-Spangled Banner” and Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love.”
This CD will be the thirteenth release in Dagger Records official bootleg Jimi Hendrix Experience series.
