This summer is certainly different from the last for Van Halen. At this time in 2013, the band was extremely busy, having already had played a slew of concerts in North America in support of their album A Different Kind of Truth.
Sidelined by exhaustion, Van Halen decided to call off the second leg of their tour, wrapping up their 46 shows on June 26 in New Orleans. The group was then forced to postpone their shows scheduled in Japan later that year, as guitarist Eddie Van Halen suffered a severe bout of Diverticulitis, and had to have emergency surgery.
Now, Van Halen is slowly but surely beginning to reemerge from their setbacks. After headlining Australia’s Stone Music Festival with Aerosmith last month, the band has rescheduled their four Japanese concerts for June, and is even starting to add some U.S. shows to the docket.
Most recently, the band announced an appearance at the California Mid-State Fair on Paso Robles, CA on July 24. Van Halen is also slated to perform at the RockUSA Festival in Oshkosh, WI on July 20.
We're glad to see the guys are back in action and can't wait to find out what they have in store next!
