The Rolling Stones Surprise Fans with Club Show in L.A.
By: AnnMarie Scaramuzzino

If you start them up, they’ll never stop!

The Rolling Stones have been on, well, a roll, over the past few months, and kicked off their 50 & Counting North American tour dates with an impromptu show in L.A. this past weekend.

Tickets went on sale on Saturday afternoon for the show that took place at Echo Park’s Echoplex just hours later. 700 out of the 2,000 fans that showed up at the El Ray Theatre in the hopes of scoring seats were chosen via a lottery, with tickets at the very affordable price of $20.

Firing through a setlist that included classics such as “You Got Me Rocking,” “She’s So Cold” and “Street Fighting Man,” former guitarist Mick Taylor later joined the band for “Love in Vain” and “Midnight Rambler.”

The UK rockers will stick around Southern California for their official tour opener, which is set for Friday, May 3 at the Staples Centers in L.A.

Check out the Rolling Stones’ entire setlist from their show at the Echoplex below, as well as some video footage captured from the evening, and head to the band’s official website for complete concert listings.
