Though the buzz has died down since it was first announced that Richie Sambora would not be participating in the remainder of Bon Jovi’s “Because We Can” tour dates, fans everywhere are still curious about exactly what went down.
Frontman Jon Bon Jovi addressed the situation again yesterday (April 23) during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show “Ellen,” but he was still extremely cryptic.
In response to a question about Sambora’s current status with the group, Jon, who chose his words very carefully, stated, “Well…all I can say is that, honest to God, it’s a personal matter, but we love him very much and he’s absolutely still a member of the band.”
It’s certainly good to know that Richie hasn’t been booted from the group. However, with no official explanation made from any of the parties involved, (some have pointed the finger at Jon’s wife, Dorothea) rumors will continue to swirl about the possible turmoil within the band, and the potential return of the guitarist’s ongoing issues with substance abuse, among other things.
Whatever personal matters are going on in his life, we hope that Richie Sambora is able to work them out soon and get back to rocking with Bon Jovi.
