Ozzy Osbourne shared a surprising bit of news on Monday (April 15) via his Facebook page. The Black Sabbath rocker revealed that he is not divorcing from wife Sharon Osbourne but has relapsed into drug and alcohol abuse. However, he also stated that he is now 44 days sober.
Although Ozzy said in the post, “Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person,” rumors continue to circulate on the rough state of the Osbourne’s marriage.
TMZ reports that the couple is living separately and that Sharon will not get back together with Ozzy until he can maintain his sobriety for good.
Sources tell TMZ that Sharon does not plan on ending their 31 year marriage but rather wants to send the message to her husband that she won’t stand for any more of his substance abuse.
The couple’s son Jack Osbourne also took to Twitter on April 14 saying that the rumors of his parent’s divorce are “all bull---t.”
Ozzy has struggled with addiction for years, entering rehab 10 times and trying to quit on his own another 50. He was previously sober since 2006. The Sabbath singer told Rolling Stone in 2011, “When you're on the bottle, you don't realize you're as bad as you are. We've all done something that makes us say, 'Did I do that?' I have all these old photographs of me in the Eighties, Nineties, and I can't remember taking them. I sometimes wonder, 'Is that really me? What the f**k was I smoking at the time?'”
