Huey Lewis and Weird Al Yankovic Appear in New ‘American Psycho’ Parody
Claire Holton

“Do you like Huey Lewis & The News?”

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the album Sports, Huey Lewis and Weird Al Yankovic kill in a new parody for Funny or Die of the iconic murder scene from American Psycho set to the tune of the Huey Lewis & The News hit “Hip To Be Square.”

In the parody, Lewis plays the role of axe murderer and Huey Lewis fan Patrick Bateman, made famous by Christian Bale in the 2000 film, while Yankovic plays Paul Allen, Bateman’s unsuspecting victim.

Yankovic meets an unfortunate and bloody end at the hands of Lewis, who lectures him on the history of American Psycho before putting a stop to Weird Al’s parody songs for good.

Lewis and company will celebrate 30 years of their hit album in other ways, too. The band will release Sports (30th Anniversary Edition), featuring remastered versions of the original tracks as well as live versions, on May 14, and will hit the road for an anniversary tour on May 10.

Watch the American Psycho parody here and listen to the Weird Al song “I Want a New Duck,” a takeoff on the Huey Lewis original “I Want a New Drug,” below!
