Happy Birthday to the voice Supertramp, Roger Hodgson!  Born Roger Charles Pomfret Hodgson Portsmouth, England, he began writing songs at the young age of twelve using only the three guitar chords he’d learned from his teacher.

As he years progressed, Hodgson became best known for his work with Supertramp, but he also had a notable solo career. After leaving the band in the mid-80s, he went on to release three albums: In the Eye of the Storm (1984), Hai Hai (1987) and Open the Door (2000). Over his life, Hodgson has been given tremendous honors, including receiving a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Ministry of Culture in 2012.

A family man, Hodgson has been married to Karuna Hodgson since March 7th, 1979, and together they have two children. He is also a lifelong vegetarian.

Currently the singer is on the Breakfast in America tour, which runs through October 26th at the NYCB Theatre in Westbury, NY.
