Journey Guitarist Files Defamation Suit Against Former Mother in Law

It looks like even rock stars can have issues with their in-laws.

Journey guitarist and founder, Neal Schon, has recently filed a $75,000 defamation suit against his former mother-in-law, Judy Kozan, in response to her claims online and to the media that he’s a “dead-beat dad”, according to TMZ.

Despite the fact that Schon states he has given his ex-wife, Amber Schon, over $1.3 million since their 2007 divorce, Kozan has taken to the internet, most recently in a January blog post, to write that the rocker has not given Amber and their two daughters enough to live on, and allowed them  to “go homeless.”

Since Schon filed the suit, Kozan has reportedly taken the blog post down, even going as far as to put a half-hearted apology in its place.

The situation comes just weeks after Schon won a lawsuit over his ex-wife, who was attempting to get Schon to pay another $2,758 in child support per month, upping the ante from his previous payment of $3,000 per month, TMZ reports. Instead of awarding her the money, the judge gave Amber some free advice: get a degree and support yourself.
