Singer-songwriter John Mellencamp has done it all in his career.  With multiple Grammy nominations, a Billboard Century Award and a Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction, the rocker shows no signs of slowing down. And in the midst of all of the Rock and Roll, the singer still finds time to give back.

Mellencamp is teaming up with actor Matthew McConaughey, one of the individuals behind Mack, Jack & McConaughey (MJ&M) to raise money for children’s charities. The joint fundraising effort is also headed by recording artist Jack Ingram and The University of Texas Head Football Coach Mack Brown. 

MJ&M is set to host its Gala Night on April 11, 2013 at The Moody Theater, which kicks off an inaugural, two-day event in Austin TX. The headliner of the event will be none other than John Mellencamp, with Austin’s own Dale Watson opening.

“John is one of my all-time favorite musicians and a man I call a friend,” McConaughey said.  “I am honored and proud to have him perform at this event.”
