Steven Tyler Act Introduced in Hawaii
Claire Holton
2/8/2013

Rockers Stephen Tyler and Mick Fleetwood are gathering today in Hawaii to testify before the state senate regarding the proposed Steven Tyler Act.

The new bill named for the Aerosmith frontman will crack down on paparazzi in Hawaii, according to a recent press release.

If it passes, the bill will impose stricter punishments on paparazzi that harass celebrities and invade their privacy during “personal or family activity.”  It will also make paparazzi that use invasive zoom lenses and recording devices liable to more punishment.

A whole host of stars have come out in support of the new anti-paparazzi bill, including Ozzy Osborne, Tommy Lee, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, and Neil Diamond.

Tyler, who has a home in Maui, was recently caught by paparazzi playing bongos on the beach wearing nothing but a speedo, so it’s easy to see why the singer has finally had enough!

“The paradise of Hawaii is a magnet for celebrities who just want a peaceful vacation,” Tyler stated. “As a person in the public eye, I know the paparazzi are there and we have to accept that.  But when they intrude into our private space, disregard our safety and the safety of others, that crosses a serious line that shouldn't be ignored.”
