You don’t always have to see the light at the end of the tunnel to get excited. Sometimes the mere thought of something great on the horizon is enough to lift your spirits. If you’re a fan of legendary rock band the Eagles, there is some news that will be music to your ears.
Don Henley recently spoke to WMGK in Philadelphia about a vast number of topics. The most important, though, was that Henley said there are already plans in the works for an upcoming Eagles world tour. While an official announcement has not yet been confirmed, Henley did say that he expects the tour to happen.
Henley also teased about an upcoming surprise for fans of the band. Without naming names, he noted that one former member will be back into the fold. When WMGK host Andre Gardner joked that it wouldn’t be Don Felder, Henley agreed in a playful manner, which probably rules the guitarist out.
The only down side to the semi-news is that Henley said the upcoming tour could very well be their last. Whether or not that’s true is yet to be determined but hopefully that doesn’t leave you with ‘Heartache Tonight.’
Have no fear if you need an Eagles fix. ‘The History of the Eagles,' a two-part documentary on the band, will debut on Showtime later this month. Henley admitted he is a very private person and that seeing his life reflected on the big screen wasn’t easy.
The footage might not always be pretty, but it contains some backstage actions and to that, Henley added, “I’ve got a lot of explaining to do to my kids.” Don’t we all Don, don’t we all.
Go ahead and take ‘Seven Bridges Road’ and check-in at ‘Hotel California’ once a show comes to your town. Until then, be content to re-listen to some of your favorite tunes by the band and envision yourself in the crowd of a live show.
Be sure to keep up with the latest news on the Eagles at their official website. Have a favorite Eagles track? Feel free to comment on what you think is their best work.
