Queen "Live at Wembley Stadium" Double DVD Due Out in March
By: Ray Hidalgo

While Freddie Mercury will never electrify another crowd with his rollicking, provocative on-stage presence, his legendary weekend-long 1986 performance with Queen at Wembley Stadium will live again for DVD release on March 12.

“The Wembley concerts in 1986 were the pinnacle for us,” Queen guitarist Brian May said in the official press release. “We were at our height band-wise and Freddie had developed this phenomenal way of dealing with stadium audiences."

The DVD builds on previous recordings of the concert weekend with unreleased footage, remixed sound, and new 2011 interviews with Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May. The sense that Wembley was to essentially be their last hurrah was unthinkable at the time.

“Being back home in London playing two sell-out nights was such a big, big occasion for us,” said May. “None of us realized that this would be almost the last time we played together.”

With the DVD in-hand, fans can relive memories of Mercury challenging the crowd to follow his ridiculous vocal register, take notes and attempt to replicate his outlandish costumes for Halloween, or desperately attempt to not sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" along with the band, aloud.
