Bruce Springsteen and Rage Against The Machine/Street Sweeper Social Club guitarist Tom Morello will continue their association in March, when Morello fills in for Steven Van Zandt when Springsteen and the E Street Band tour Australia during March.
Van Zandt has previous commitments to his Netflix series "Lillyhammer," which will be filming its second season at the time. Morello crossed Springsteen's radar when Rage did a cover of "The Ghost of Tom Joad" in 1998 as a non-album single.
The two have crossed paths several times since, and Morello played on two tracks from Springsteen's "Wrecking Ball" album and made several appearances during the tour, including at the South By Southwest Music + Media Conference in March of 2012, on NBC's "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and at Springsteen's two shows at Wrigley Field in Morello's home town of Chicago.
Morello will also join Sting, Jackson Browne and others to fete Springsteen as the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year during Grammy Week in Los Angeles.
Van Zandt will be back on board the E Street train when the group begins a European tour on April 29 in Oslo, Norway.
