Aerosmith's Steven Tyler has taken steps to make nice and quell his feud with current "American Idol" judge Nicki Minaj.
The dustup began when Tyler made critical remarks about Minaj to MTV News over her judging abilities and the reported behind-the-scenes battles with fellow judge Mariah Carey.
Minaj slapped back, calling his comments "racist." Tyler told eTalk in Canada that, "I apologize if it was taken wrong, Nicki, but I am the farthest from (racist). I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don't know where she got that out of me saying I'm not sure how she would've judged Bob Dylan."
Tyler told MTV News that if the current "Idol" panel encountered Bob Dylan "they would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with (2012 'Idol' winner) Phillip Phillips."
Minaj has not yet responded to Tyler's latest comments.
Aerosmith, meanwhile, continues its Global Warming Tour in support of its new album, "Music From Another Dimension!," which wraps up December 13 in Nashville.
