VINTAGE BRUCE

8/10/2012

A very popular Bruce Springsteen bootleg video has been released, but not by Springsteen. His September 20th, 1978 performance at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic [prn: Puh-Say-Ick], New Jersey has been posted on the Wolfgang's Vaultwebsite, which was established after buying the rights to the late promoter Bill Graham's archives. But this was not one of Graham's shows. The Vault has also bought the rights to New Jersey-based promoter John Scher's archive, and the Springsteen show was filmed on the Capitol Theatre's in-house video system.

And as for Springsteen in 2012, highlights of his performance at last month's Hard Rock Calling festival in London will be shown on Palladia on August 25th at 9 p.m. ET. That was the show that featured a surprise appearance by Paul McCartney on "I Saw Here Standing There" and "Twist and Shout" before the power was turned off.
