Olympics fans will get a double dose of Paul McCartney during the opening ceremony on July 27 in London. According to reports out of Britain, McCartney is scheduled to open the event with a so-far undisclosed song, then close it with "Hey Jude." Olympics organizers have not yet confirmed the plan...In other McCartney news, one of the former Beatle's signed Hofner bass sold for more than $64,000 at a recent fundraiser for the Nordoff Robbins musical therapy charity held June 29 in London. In a statement, McCartney said that, "I am delighted to have signed and donated this very special left-handed Hofner bass in order to raise funds for Nordoff Robbins. The work they do with music therapy transforms the lives of vulnerable children and adults across the U.K., and I hope the sale of this guitar raises a lot of money." The auction raised more than $400,000 for the organization.
