"QUADROPHENIA" TO REIGN O'ER THE BIG SCREEN IN JULY

6/22/2012

The Who's projected "Quadrophenia" tour for 2012 seems to be petering out, but fans can still get their fix of the 1973 rock opera this summer. The documentary "The Who: Quadrophenia -- Can You See The Real Me?" will be shown one night only at 8 p.m. on July 24 in theaters around the country. The film includes vintage footage of the Who working on the album and performing it live, as well as new interviews with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. The documentary is expected to be released on DVD later this year. Those attending the screening will also be able to order the "Quadrophenia -- Director's Cut" box set that came out last fall for a bargain price of $99.98. The Who's manager Bill Curbishley is reportedly planning a film sequel to the "Quadrophenia" story, according to Townshend, but no details have been officially revealed.
