ROBERT PLANT BRINGING (BAND OF) JOY TO DVD

6/1/2012

Robert Plant's lauded Band of Joy is on ice right now, but it lives again on "Robert Plant & the Band of Joy: Live From the Artist's Den," a 16-song DVD and Blu-ray drawn from the group's appearance on the popular PBS TV series. The set includes three Led Zeppelin favorites -- "Black Dog," "Houses of the Holy" and "Tangerine" -- as well as Plant's solo hit "In the Mood" and the traditional "I Bid You Goodnight," none of which were included in the original broadcast. The video will feature interview material, while Plant penned liner notes for a booklet included with the set, writing that, "Some years back I was propelled by chance, with little planning or expectation into an American way -- with a lean and pull into a new direction -- voices and harmony, restraint and explosion, tight and loose, great joy in great company, in a blizzard in Nashville." The Band of Joy featured producer Buddy Miller as well as singer Patty Griffin, who Plant now lives with (and has reportedly married) in Austin, Texas. The full track list for the video includes: Black Dog; Angel Dance; Houses of the Holy; House of Cards; Cindy, I'll Marry You Someday; Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down; Somewhere Trouble Don't Go; Tangerine; A Satisfied Mind; Move Up; Down to the Sea; Ramble On; Gallows Pole; In the Mood; Rock and Roll; I Bid You Goodnight.
