'Yellow Submarine' Director Hoping To Use Paul, Ringo as Voices

11/9/2009

Film director Robert Zemeckis says he'd like Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to voice their own characters in his upcoming 3D remake of the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine." But Zemeckis recently told MTV.com that "We haven't gotten the word yet on the two surviving Beatles, whether they're interested in doing it or not." None of the four Beatles voiced their own characters in the original 1968 film, but the group did appear "live" at the end of the movie. Zemeckis is working with Walt Disney Pictures and the Beatles' Apple Corps on the project, which does not have a release date yet. He will be using the same 16 Beatles songs that appeared in the original version.
