ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons has made news recently talking about some new music he's been making in a very new environment.
Gibbons tells us that during a recent vacation in Ibiza following ZZ's recent European tour he spent time with electronic music producer and artist David Guetta, and the two wound up heading into the studio to make some music together:
"I'd say eight or 10 cuts already down that, by and large, I would consider completed...It's a far cry from what people might expect -- Gibbons and electronic stuff? That said, well, a lot of people have overlooked the fact that one of the things that made (1983's) 'Eliminator' so interesting was the opportunity to go into that experimental side of things and fool around with the coolest new toys that could be found in the recording studio."
There's no word yet on when or how the Gibbons-Guetta material will be released. ZZ Top is currently on the road with Jeff Beck through mid-September and has other dates booked into November.
