Steven Tyler and Joe Perry’s rendition of the Aerosmith classic “Dream On” featuring the California Children’s Chorus is now available on iTunes, with proceeds from track sales going to charities benefiting the victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
ESPN’s award-winning show “E: 60” featured the song on their special in April, “E: 60 Presents Dream On: Stories from Boston’s Strongest.” The one hour special featured five survivors of the Boston Bombing and showcased their stories of bravery and ability to move on with their lives after such a horrible tragedy.
According to msopr.com, Joe and Steven were more than happy to contribute to this great story alongside ESPN.
“The tragedy that took place during the Boston Marathon was unfathomable, but Boston is incredibly resilient and became even stronger,” said Steven.
Joe said after this heinous act it was time for a positive response in order to move on.
“The heinous act that took place during the Boston Marathon which shook not only the city but the world and touched us all demanded a positive response,” said Joe.
In fact, a few nights ago, Aerosmith surprised the crowd at The Forum during a concert and performed the new version with the California Children’s Chorus, and what a treat it was!
We enjoy seeing musicians helping out and using their celebrity to help worthy causes, but we also like seeing our favorite acts tour. Right now, Joe and Steven are very busy at the moment on their “LET ROCK RULE” tour with Slash. You can find all the tour dates as well as a bunch of other good stuff on their website.
