A couple of singer-songwriter icons took a rare moment to get together on stage over the weekend in Detroit.
James Taylor joined Jimmy Buffett for a rendition of the former's "Mexico" on Saturday night (July 26) at Comerica Park in Detroit. Taylor wrote and recorded the song for his 1975 album "Gorilla," while Buffett -- who said to the crowd, "Look who I ran into backstage..." before bringing Taylor out -- covered "Mexico" for his 1995 album "Barometer Soup." Taylor was in town to play a concert the following night. The show was streamed on Buffett's Margaritaville TV Internet service.
Taylor wraps up his North American tour on August 9 in Oklahoma City before taking part in a nine-day cruise out of New York City starting August 27. He then disembarks in the U.K. to begin a European tour on September 5. Buffett returns to the road on August 16 in Bristow, Virginia.
