Perry Talks About Recording With McCartney, Cooper

CLEVELAND, OH - JULY 21: Joe Perry of Aerosmith at the 2014 Gibson Brands AP Music Awards at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on July 21, 2014 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Someone should tell Joe Perry that no one likes a tease!

In an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Perry let it slip that he was in the recording studio recently with Paul McCartney, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp and that they’re working on some sort of “mystery project.”

While Perry said they’re keeping the project “under wraps for now,” he promises that “There will be an announcement when the time is right.”

I have no idea what exactly could be in store, but this could either be one of the most unique supergroups of all time or perhaps the start of the greatest “Four guys walk into a bar” style joke.

Perry also made mention that he, Cooper and Depp were all kind of “fanning out” when recording with McCartney saying “It’s the great ego leveler. I was in the studio with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, playing guitar, and the three of us are looking at each other like, hey, we’re sitting here with Paul McCartney! And we’re all looking at each other like open-mouthed kids.”

While it’s hard to fathom, it’s still pretty cool hearing how even legends like Perry get star struck.
