Money Being Raised For Permanent Bonham Memorial

John Bonham of Led Zeppelin
In the 30-plus years since his passing, you would think there would be some sort of memorial to the legendary John Bonham in his hometown of Redditch, England, however, this glaring omission has remained the same…until now.

Bonzo’s sister Deborah Bonham, along with local musicians/Zeppelin fans Clem and Sam Dallaway, have taken it upon themselves to raise the necessary funds to create a permanent memorial to the drummer in Redditch’s town square.

Launched a little over a year ago, JohnBonhamMemorialFund.com is aiming to raise 50,000 British pounds (about $85,000 U.S.) for the memorial and is hosting a fund raising show August 2nd in Redditch.

Obviously, most of us aren’t able to drop a bunch of money for a last-minute flight to England, but if you feel that Bonzo deserves his due (and I’m sure there’s plenty of fans out there that agree), you can donate to the memorial online at GoldenGiving.com.
