Reissues and live sets from Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd and Elton John highlight this week's new classic rock releases:
Bon Jovi, "New Jersey" (Island/UMe): The New Jersey group's chart-topping fourth album is fleshed out with unreleased tracks -- including a live version of Think Lizzy's "The Boys are Back in Town" -- and DVD content including music videos and the 1990 documentary "Access All Areas: A Rock & Roll Odyssey."
Deep Purple, "In Concert '72" (Rhino): A "Machine Head"-era archival release that serves as a nice compliment to the recently reissued "Made in Japan."
Emerson, Lake & Palmer, "Brain Salad Surgery" (Razor & Tie): This three-disc revisitation of the prog rock trio's crowning achievement includes previously unreleased alternate takes and Super Stereo mixes.
Grateful Dead, "Dick's Picks Vol. 17 Boston Garden 9/25/91" (DeadNet): A later-period document that includes plenty of Deadhead favorites and expansive jams, showing the Dead was still very much alive even at this late juncture.
Jethro Tull, "A Passion Play" (Rhino): The group's second full-length concept album is celebrated on this two-CD/two-DVD collection generously filled out with additional material from the sessions and other bonuses.
Elton John, "The Million Dollar Piano" (Eagle Rock): The Rocket Man's latest, hit-filled Las Vegas show is captured on this DVD and Blu-ray release.
Pink Floyd, "The Division Bell 20th Anniversary Box" (Warner Music Group): The group's most recent album (that would be 1994) gets its due with the packed box set that includes vinyl singles as well as CD, vinyl and Blu-ray editions of the set.
Various Artists, "The Midnight Ramble Sessions, Volume 3" (Vanguard): More from the late Band drummer's homespun barn jams, featuring Allen Toussaint and the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson as drop-in guests.
