Sting Says He’s Not Leaving His Children Any Money

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 02: Musician Sting arrives at the LACMA 2013 Art + Film Gala on November 2, 2013 in Los Angeles, California.
Sting
recently did a lengthy interview with U.K.’s Daily Mail, and while there were countless quotable moments throughout, there was perhaps no moment more quotable than when he discussed his children receiving any of his fortune.

“I told them there won’t be much money left because we are spending it,” said Sting. “We have a lot of commitments. What comes in we spend, and there isn’t much left.”

The article notes that Sting employees over 100 people, from tour crew members and musicians, as well as personal assistants.

Sting is quick to note that his six children (!) were raised knowing they had to earn any and all success and that they “rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.”

Wow!  Maybe other rock star parents should take a cue from Sting and not be so accommodating to their children.  Maybe that whole “spoiled” stigma that some rock star children carry wouldn’t be so commonplace.
