Clapton Walks Off Stage, Apologizes To Fans

NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 12: Eric Clapton performs on stage during the 2013 Crossroads Guitar Festival at Madison Square Garden on April 12, 2013 in New York City.
Fans in attendance at Eric Clapton’s show in Glasgow, England this past weekend were rather put off when the guitar legend walked off stage in the middle of performing “Cocaine” without explanation.

Fans took Twitter to vent their frustration saying that he should’ve explained why he left and that Clapton could’ve handled the situation better.

The amount of fan tweets were too much for Clapton to ignore, and last night, a statement was posted onto his official website stating there was a “technical problem with the PA system that the band battled with throughout the show but by the last song of the set it became unbearable on stage and Eric was unable to complete that number.”

The statement concluded that Clapton was “sorry for the break in the concert and the disappointment of his fans.”

Clapton has three more performances scheduled in June.  Here’s hoping there are no more PA issues!
