Neil Young’s Twitter Account Hacked

LOS ANGELES, CA - JANUARY 21: Musician Neil Youn speaks The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing Presents 7th Annual GRAMMY Week Event Honoring Neil Young at The Village Recording Studios on January 21, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.
Neil Young
’s Twitter followers were in for an eyeful recently as his Twitter page was hacked and began sending out some very NSFW photos.

While these tweets have now been taken down, Mashable reported that a tweet stating the problem had “been taken care of” seemed to mark the end of the issue, but many inappropriate tweets were published following that post containing photos from a notable adult website.

Apparently, Twitter worked with Young’s management team and the account has since been restored and is in control of its rightful owner.  Promotional tweets for Young’s new CD, A Letter Home, have been put back on Young’s official Twitter page.

This, of course, leads to this question:  Who would want to hack Neil Young’s Twitter account and why?  I guess there’s a lot of bored people out there.
