It looks like Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood's son is a chip off the ol' six-string block.
Jesse Wood has been hired by the British rock band Reef to play summer shows in place of the group's Kenwyn House, who's taking a leave of absence to focus on a psychedelic rock side project called Goldray. Reef made the announcement its web site, following it with a hearty "Yeah man!"
Jesse Wood's parents, Ron and his first-wife Krissy Findlay (who died from a drug overdose in 2005) divorced in 1978; the younger Wood has played with his father in the Ronnie Wood Band, as well as in groups such as Glyda, Black Swan Effect and his sister Leah's band. He has three children of his own, two from his first marriage and one with fiance Fearne Cotton. Reef hits the road May 31 and has British dates booked throughout the summer.
Ron Wood, meanwhile, gets back in action when the Stones' European tour begins on May 26 in Fornebu, Norway.
