Tyler, Perry Record New Version of “Dream On” For Boston Marathon Doc

NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 13: Joe Perry and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith perform at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 44th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner at the New York Marriott Marquis on June 13, 2013 in New York City.
Steven Tyler
and Joe Perry have recorded a new version of Aerosmith's "Dream On" for a TV special about last year's Boston Marathon bombings, where three people were killed and more than 260 were injured.

The song, recorded with the Southern California Children's Chorus, will debut on Saturday's (April 12) broadcast of the documentary "Dream On: Stories from Boston's Strongest" on ABC, which will also show April 15 on ESPN to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the tragedy.

"Dream On" appeared on Aerosmith's 1973 debut album but wasn't a hit until three years later; the group also performed it at the Boston Strong concert last May.

Aerosmith kicks off a six-week European tour on May 14 in Istanbul before coming home in early July for its Let Rock Rule tour with Slash that includes stops at the Big Music Fest on July 13 in Kitchener, Ontario, and Rock Fest on July 19 in Cadott, Wisc.
