The Rolling Stones have not surprisingly canceled the opening show of their Australian tour -- scheduled for Wednesday (March 19) in Perth -- after Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide in her New York apartment.
A state from the Stones' publicist, however, advised fans to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available; updates will be posted www.frontiertouring.com.
An announcement about the remainder of the Stones' tour, which includes five more Australian dates and an April 5 show in New Zealand, is expected later today (March 18). The Stones have also announced four European festival dates for the summer.
Jagger is said to be "shocked and devastated" by the news about Scott, who he's been dating since 2001, and reportedly left Australia immediately after learning the news. Jagger's daughter, Georgia May Jagger, has also canceled a planned fashion show in Melbourne and flew to New York to be with her father.
